The Controller is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Garden Ridge, TX. This position oversees all accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and month‑end and year‑end close processes. The Controller prepares financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and supports internal and external audits. The role includes monitoring project costs, job profitability, and cash flow, as well as implementing and improving financial controls, policies, and procedures.
The Controller collaborates closely with leadership and project teams to provide financial analysis, support strategic decision‑making, and maintain accurate, timely reporting for a growing electrical services business.
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and budgeting/forecasting.
- Proficiency with Net Suite accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
- Experience with cost accounting, job costing, and project‑based financial tracking, ideally in construction, utilities, or related industries.
- Knowledge of GAAP, tax basics, internal controls, and compliance requirements relevant to small and mid‑sized businesses.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret key performance indicators, and communicate clear financial insights to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to partnering with field operations and management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or in a senior accounting role with increasing responsibility.
