Job DescriptionSupervisor:
Geotechnical Construction Manager
Responsible for managing construction crew, materials, equipment, and ensuring specifications are followed and work progresses on schedule. Oversees drill operators, ensuring daily checklists, equipment set-up, and safe operation. Initiates necessary corrections to keep production in spec and handles cable loading operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Create and complete a job safety analysis each morning.
- Oversee crew activities efficiently and manage training, development, appraisal, and work assignments.
- Interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Manage tools, materials, supplies, and equipment utilization.
- Respond promptly to site production issues.
- Report crew hours and code time accurately on daily timesheet.
- Improve company operations as needed.
- Compliance with all safety policies, reporting unsafe activities.
- Participation in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Leadership through example and knowledge sharing.
- Driver’s License, OSHA 10/30, First Aid, CPR.
- 5+ years’ experience in highway and road construction.
- Knowledge of construction phases (Pipe, Dirt, Structures, Pavement).
- Education:
less than High School Diploma.
- Language: read limited two- and three-syllable words; print and speak simple sentences.
- Mathematical: add, subtract, multiply, divide; compute rate, ratio, percent; interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning: apply common sense to written or oral instructions; solve problems with few concrete variables.
- Planning and Organizing: handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach or handle items with fingers.
- Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions; high noise levels.
- May be exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places.
