Finish Line Staffing is partnering with a rapidly growing commercial and industrial electrical contractor to hire a Traveling Project Engineer for its National Accounts Division. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional who wants to gain experience on complex, large-scale electrical projects across the United States.
Compensation: $75,000–$95,000 annually
, based on experience and qualifications, plus per diem and comprehensive travel assistance.

What You ll DoAs a Traveling Project Engineer, you ll work alongside Project Managers and Field Superintendents to help ensure successful project execution from preconstruction through closeout. You ll play a key role in keeping projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Promote and support a strong safety culture on every project.
- Assist Project Managers with project scheduling, budgeting, and overall project coordination.
- Manage and track RFIs, submittals, material procurement, and change orders.
- Help oversee the change management process, ensuring scope changes are documented and processed efficiently.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
- Conduct jobsite walks and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and safety.
- Coordinate with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to support successful project execution.
- Prepare weekly project reports, progress updates, and project closeout documentation.
- Participate in preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, and schedule development.
- Support project teams in delivering high-quality work while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
Preferred
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in project engineering or construction, preferably with an electrical contractor.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Autodesk.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay at project locations as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to build a long-term career in electrical construction.
- OSHA 30 certification and CPR/First Aid certification are a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
