Job Title:
Fit Technical Designer (Women’s Apparel)
Project Overview:
We are a growing women’s apparel brand seeking a detail-oriented Technical Designer to oversee the fit and construction of our upcoming collections.
Key Responsibilities:
Tech Pack Development:
Partner with Designer to create initial tech packs including detailed sketches (flats), construction callouts, and initial measurement charts.
Fit Session Management:
Lead fit sessions (virtual or in-person) and provide clear,actionable fit comments and corrections to manufacturers.
Sizing & Grading:
Establish and maintain brand-consistent grade rules and size charts(XS–XXL).
Pattern Review:
Analyze patterns for balance and silhouette accuracy; communicatenecessary adjustments to pattern makers or factories.
Quality Control:
Establish tolerances and ensure that pre-production samples meetall specifications before bulk production. Must spec each sample that comes ensureit meets our standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience:
5+ years in Technical Design specifically within the Women’s Apparelmarket (Contemporary, Athleisure, or Bridge preferred).
Software Proficiency:
Expert-level skills in Adobe Illustrator and Excel. Experience with PLM software (e.g., Backbone, Centric, or Blue Cherry) is a plus.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of garment construction, stitching details,fabric performance, and drape.
Communication:
Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear instructions for overseas or domestic factories.
Work Style:
Hybrid (3 days)
We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration. This role is a full-time, hybrid position where the team gathers in our New Braunfels office 3 days a week. Localresidency (or a confirmed plan to relocate) is required to ensure a seamless commute forthese collaborative days.
