Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Onsite)
Travel: Approximately 50% | Weekend on-call required
Our client, a global leader in heavy industrial manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer to take ownership of plant-wide electrical, instrumentation, control, automation, and networking systems.
This role is responsible for ensuring safe and reliable plant operations at the lowest life-cycle cost while developing and executing cost-effective projects that improve productivity across multiple facilities.
Position Overview- Ensure safe and reliable plant operations
- Identify, develop, and implement solutions to electrical, instrumentation, automation, networking, and cybersecurity reliability issues
- Manage full project lifecycle from system design, programming, simulation, testing, commissioning, and documentation
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts to prevent recurrence of major failures
- Monitor and optimize predictive and preventive maintenance programs
- Review and update Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Track KPIs, metrics, and key reliability initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams
- High-voltage electrical power systems (440–480V and above)
- PLC logic and HMI programming
- Instrumentation and control devices
- Switchgear (low/medium/high voltage), transformers, motors, distribution systems
- MCCs and VFDs
- Process control networks and cybersecurity systems
- Heavy Manufacturing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Networking Engineering
- 12+ years of experience in engineering, maintenance, reliability, automation, networking, or cybersecurity within an industrial manufacturing environment
- Proven experience executing reliability methodologies including RCA, RCI, FMEA, downtime analysis, and Fishbone analysis
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Experience engineering and designing electrical/instrumentation/automation/networking systems and projects
- Proficiency with SAP, AutoCAD, Rockwell PLCs, Modicon PLCs, HMIs, Excel, Visio, Word, and Power Point
- Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Must be flexible as facilities operate 24/7 and emergency support may be required
- Weekend on-call coverage required
Must be comfortable with approximately 50% travel and extended travel periods - Combination of office and field work environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
