CHS Student Worker - Theatre Tech Operator

Primary
Purpose:
Responsible for the set-up and technical operations for events held at the High School Performing Arts Center
Education / Certification:
- Must be a current Canyon High School student.
Experience / Other Requirements
- Technical Theatre Class work or related experience is required.
Special Knowledge /
Skills:
- Ability to hook up microphones, patch and operate levels on soundboard.
- Ability to play music through sound system from various components.
- Ability to program cues, patch and operate the light board.
- Ability to manipulate curtains and other back stage headsets, etc.
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Set up all technical needs prior to the event start.
- Monitor patron entrance to the facility to ensure safety and professional demeanor.
- Assist with handicapped patrons.
- Operate lights/sounds/curtains during the event.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Assist with end of event strike.
- Assist with any emergency procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Equipment Used:
Basic Office equipment (computer, copier, etc.), Stage Lighting, Stage Sound, and Communication Equipment.

- Frequent:
Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, reaching, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. - Frequent exposure to noise, low or intense illumination.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written), instruct, read and understand verbal instructions, and maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions.
