The Operation Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations of the branch on a day‑to‑day basis. You will utilize your leadership, customer service and decision‑making skills as you are the right hand to the Branch Manager.
Essential Functions- Maintain equipment for retail sales inventory
- Responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the rental branch
- Verify account status and effectively communicate with the Credit Dept where necessary
- Responsible for completing requisitions to maintain adequate rental inventory levels
- Ensure that SOPs are being followed
- Complete weekly cycle counts of the rental fleet
- Check outgoing contracts for accuracy including rates, delivery fees and equipment numbers
- Responsible for all branch logistics
- Responsible to maintain the overall appearance and condition of the facility
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Maintain employee timecards and PTO approvals; recognizes and celebrates employee achievements and milestones
- Addresses employee performance issues using performance management
- Develops talent
- Strong understanding of P&L and other key financial controls
- Strong work ethic and highly energetic
- Responsible for timely submission of all necessary reports
- The operations manager will be versed in the following topics:
- All aspects of the business operation and markets
- All safety regulations concerning the products, their safe use, and the safety of the facility
- Proper use of the equipment

Required Education And Experience- High School Diploma
- 2‑year certificate from technical school or 5 years of related management experience in heavy equipment industry
- PC proficiency required, particularly in MS Office applications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent Customer Service skills

Work Environment- Primarily based in a front desk or customer service office setting.
- Climate‑controlled workspace equipped with standard office tools (computers, phones, CRM systems).
- Frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and internal staff both in person and through phone/email.
- Regular visits to the adjacent repair shop and outdoor equipment yard to coordinate with technicians or support customer needs.
- Occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, grease, and heavy machinery during shop or yard visits.
- Outdoor yard visits may involve exposure to seasonal weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or wind.
- Uneven terrain and moving equipment in shop/yard areas require proper footwear and attention to safety.
- Must be comfortable transitioning between a professional office setting and a more physically active, industrial environment.
- Requires strong communication, multitasking, and coordination skills across departments.
- Adaptability and situational awareness are key in navigating between administrative and operational responsibilities.

Physical Demands- Requires a moderate level of physical activity and flexibility to support both office and operational tasks.
- Occasional bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting or carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
