Registered Nurse Nephrology

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is a leading healthcare provider in San Antonio, specializing in a wide range of medical services, from emergency care to specialized surgery. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Nephrology to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease.

In this role, you will deliver specialized nursing care to nephrology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, including dialysis. You will be responsible for administering and monitoring hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, performing comprehensive assessments, monitoring vital signs, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition. You will manage and care for vascular access sites, including AV fistulas, grafts, and central venous catheters, ensuring patency, safety, and infection prevention at all times.

The Registered Nurse Nephrology will collaborate closely with nephrologists, hospitalists, and an interdisciplinary team that includes dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. You will administer medications safely, manage IV therapies, and perform accurate medication reconciliation, while providing ongoing patient and family education on kidney disease, treatment options, diet and fluid restrictions, medications, and lifestyle modifications to support optimal outcomes.
