Job SummaryProvide instruction, individually or in a group format, to persons of all ages. Provide staff development guidance to assist staff in patient education based on established protocols or guidelines. Monitor, evaluate, and revise education programs. Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Perform other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Preferred Education:
- Any relevant advanced degrees
Minimum Experience: 2 years of clinical nursing practice with demonstrated competency in area of expertise.
Preferred Experience: Prior teaching experience.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
Preferred Certifications/Licensure: Specialist certifications based on specialty (e.g., Diabetes Educator, Childbirth Education, Wound, Ostomy and Continence).
Required Courses/Completions: Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
