Job Summary

The Admissions Advisor is a pivotal member of the Enrollment and Integrated Marketing organization at Texas State Technical College (TSTC), contributing significantly to the mission of placing Texans into high-paying jobs. The role executes internal and external activities to attract applicants and supports them through the admissions process. The Admissions Advisor reports directly to the Team Lead of Admissions and provides some supervision as part of the team.

Hiring Range: $20.13 - $22.14 USD Hourly. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Consistently embody TSTC Core Values (Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity) in interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and the community.
  • Assist prospective and new applicants in identifying programs that align with their career goals and guide students through the admissions process, ensuring all application requirements are met.
  • Help students determine financing methods, including assistance with FAFSA completion.
  • Manage a student applicant caseload, providing personalized advisement and troubleshooting admissions-related needs.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Veteran Services, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, Student Operations, Student Services, and Enrollment to enhance the applicant experience.
  • Set up campus tours and coordinate efforts to promote TSTC’s product line.
  • Stay updated on FAFSA, FERPA, and other compliance practices for records management.
  • Visit community locations (e.g., high schools) to attend events, represent, and promote TSTC, providing information on programs and applications.
  • Utilize software programs to track prospective student outreach, follow-up, maintain records, and generate reports on engagement targets and admissions objectives.
  • Perform general admissions administrative duties, including collecting, uploading, and quality‑controlling documents.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements

Requires travel during working hours up to 25% of responsibilities. Occasional travel up to 5% may involve overnight stays. Occasional availability on nights and weekends may be required.

Education & Experience

Associate’s Degree. Exceptional background may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Preferred: Prior experience as an Enrollment Coach or in a similar one‑stop enrollment center. 1-3 years experience in consultative sales or higher education preferred, particularly in recruiting, admissions, records, financial aid, or related fields.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional need to reach, pull, bend, and carry loads up to 15 lbs.
