Job Title

Power & HVAC Road Mechanic

This role is responsible for preventing and correcting equipment malfunctions at customer job sites for all types of equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic). The mechanic diagnoses complex equipment problems, performs preventive maintenance, conducts safety inspections, and ensures the equipment meets safety and performance standards while acting as a professional representative of Sunbelt Rentals.

• Prevents and corrects equipment malfunctions at the customer job site for all types of equipment, including diagnosing complex equipment problems.
• Acts as a professional representative of Sunbelt Rentals with the customer.
• Services and oversees repairs of all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition at the job site.
• Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and down time in the field.
• Performs safety inspections on equipment.
• Maintains a safe shop work environment and company vehicle.
• Communicates equipment issues with customers and supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Performs other duties assigned by the manager.
• Adheres to all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements.
• Attends and participates in all Profit Center Meetings.
• Works on a daily basis driving many hours at a stretch, loading and unloading cargo, and performing considerable lifting, carrying, and walking (including loading up to 50 lbs).
• Works in extreme conditions on job sites, including night, weekend, and on-call schedules.

• 1+ year(s) experience as a mechanic with Diesel equipment.
• Power Generation Equipment desirable.
• Trade school or Technical training desirable.
• Must have own tools.
• DOT Physical Examination (Medical card).
• Clear understanding of equipment safety and strong safety consciousness.
• Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and work in extreme conditions.
• Understand and comply with safety rules and regulations.

• Base Pay Range: $27.07 - $38.90 per hour (starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience).
• Travel:
  Daily driving for many hours, including loading/unloading cargo.
