Position: Credit Analyst I

Description

An entry level position used to expose the employee to all facets of the department. Work will be assigned as needed with employee working closely with one or more as appointed Credit Analyst I, Credit Analyst II, or Senior Credit Analyst as determined by the Credit Analyst Manager. The Junior Credit Analyst must have a high degree of financial knowledge from a secondary education source or acceptable work experience as determined by the Credit Analyst Manager and provide support for both the Credit and Collateral Due Diligence departments which will be driven by volume needs.

Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to the success of this position as this role requires a high degree of efficiency and problem-solving skills. There is a high level of supervision however employee is responsible and accountable to work independently without constant oversight. Work will be evaluated on obtaining specific goals as determined throughout the training process for accuracy, timeliness, and results.

ESSENTIAL

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES IN THE CREDIT DEPARTMENT
  • Database entry of applicant’s credit history and financial data into Sageworks which will assist in determining risk factors and approval recommendations.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTES IN THE COLLATERAL DUE DILIGENCE DEPARTMENT
  • Investigation of collateral appraisals utilizing a clerical and credit approach through testing of data for reliability and then communicating results via written report.
  • Prepare a written expository report that:
    • summarizes the report findings,
    • determines the accuracy of the methods employed for valuation, and
    • determines the potential credit risks associated with the property being valued.
  • Complete moderate appraisal analysis for commercial and residential properties along with various forms of collateral (used for business purposes) to determine compliance with corporate policies and Interagency Guidelines.
  • Complete property evaluations for commercial, residential, and collateral of all types, sizes, and uses around the U.S.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of financial analysis in an Excel spreadsheet environment.
  • Understanding of commercial valuation principles and methods.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of regulations affecting the appraisal industry to include FIRREA, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and Interagency Guidelines
  • Support the Credit Analyst Manager and other senior Credit Analysts with all aspects of the commercial loan process
  • Has a basic understanding of tax returns and other related financial documents.
  • Reviews and analyzes all documentation received and ensures completeness
  • Conducts follow-up on outstanding documentation to ensure receipt within turn-around time standards
  • Strong expository report writing skills.
Required:

COMPENSATION: $26.03 – $32.54 per hour.

Servion has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the company may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: An Associate Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of business-related experience (prefer financial services/lending sector) with a proven track record in Microsoft Office. Experience with real estate appraisals and underwriting systems is a plus.
