Parks Maintenance Worker

Temporary Parks/Forestry/Golf Maintenance Workers maintain and repair park urban forest and golf course infrastructure in a manner that provides a safe and clean environment and uninterrupted service to visitors.

• Performs a variety of park maintenance duties including but not limited to grass cutting, weed control, landscaping for erosion control/drainage, tree maintenance, general grounds maintenance and trash disposal as scheduled or assigned.
• Maintains ball fields, athletic fields, golf course, recreational play equipment, park buildings, urban forest and trails in excellent and usable condition.
• Perform set up and preventative maintenance services to ensure safe and efficient operations of park programs and facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Education or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience working with general maintenance equipment (lawn mowers, weed whips, etc.).
• Valid Class D driver's license.

• Three years of previous work experience in parks maintenance or closely related field.
• Valid commercial driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds; walk and stand for long period of time and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Ability to transport oneself to a variety of locations; climbing stairs and ladders; entering confined spaces; and operating hand and mechanical tools and equipment.
