CAP Carpet & Flooring is a well-established, customer-focused flooring retailer and installer serving the Twin Cities metro area. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Installation Scheduler to coordinate daily installation activity across multiple flooring categories.
This position is critical to our customer experience and installer success.
Position OverviewThe Installation Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing flooring installations from sale to completion. You will serve as the central point of coordination between sales staff, installers, vendors, and customers—ensuring jobs are scheduled accurately, efficiently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule residential and commercial flooring installations (carpet, LVP, hardwood, tile, laminate, etc.)
- Coordinate installer availability, job sequencing, and logistics
- Communicate installation dates, prep requirements, and timelines with customers
- Adjust schedules proactively due to material delays, site conditions, or installer availability
- Work closely with sales, warehouse, and installation management teams
- Maintain accurate job records, notes, and calendars in scheduling software
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Ensure installations align with company quality standards and timelines
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in floor covering installation scheduling or construction trade scheduling strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of installation workflows and job sequencing
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Clear, professional communication (phone, email, in-person)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working with scheduling and CRM software (training provided)
- Experience with flooring software (e.g., Comp-U-Floor or similar systems)
- Knowledge of material lead times, job prep, and installer requirements
- Experience working with independent subcontract installers
