QUALIFICATIONSAssociates Degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of five years of experience with primary responsibility for time and attendance and payroll administration and processing;
Healthcare experience preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with time and attendance, payroll and HRMS systems (Workday HCRM strongly preferred). Experience working with Shift Wizard scheduling systems a plus. Experience with processing payroll completely internal. Including all tax filings. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred. Knowledge of payroll practices for salary, hourly, and per diem personnel.
Knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility. Demonstrated application of financial and internal control concepts with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiencies, and effectiveness of payroll processes, procedures, and policies.
The Lead Payroll Administrator oversees all payroll processes and projects within the Payroll Department assuring they are completed accurately and timely. This position is responsible for the administration of the company’s time and attendance and payroll systems. Acts as a liaison for outside agencies as well as all hospital departments. Works with Information Technologies and Human Resources on legislative updates and attends training where required for updates to the payroll system.
Works with Human Resources and Fiscal for accurate payroll reporting, quarterly and annual tax filings, and thorough payroll analysis and reconciliation. Assists employees in resolution to problems or conflicts concerning paychecks. Directs work of others in the Payroll Department.
This position requires walking, standing and sitting with the ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 20 pounds frequently. Occasionally required to lift/carry and push/pull up to 40 pounds. This position also requires the ability to bend, squat, balance, reach above shoulder height and twist frequently. The ability to touch, see and hear are required continuously with gross grasp and fine manipulation.

This position requires thorough skills in computation, written and verbal expression/communication and reading/auditory comprehension. Problem solving skills must also be of high quality, including the ability to analyze data for potential errors.
WORK DEMANDSRegular and on-time attendance is critical. This position requires the ability to continuously work with and around others, with an emphasis on positive customer service skills. Schedule fluctuation is frequent and unpredictable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms all duties required to ensure a smooth and accurate flow of the bi-weekly payroll process. Ensure accurate timecards, including auditing timecards completed by managers or designated timekeepers, resolves timekeeping errors or exceptions during payroll processing and ensure compliance with FLSA. Provides training to timekeepers on use of time clocks, timekeeping maintenance, and related Hospital policies. Stays abreast of all Federal and State regulations, recommends changes as applicable to the timekeeping system.
