At Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, the Orthodontic Dental Assistant plays an essential role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality orthodontic care. You are a key part of helping appointments run smoothly, ensuring patients feel comfortable, and supporting efficient clinical operations throughout the day. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoy working closely with patients, we’d love to meet you.

Schedule:

2-3 days per week

Responsibilities
  • Create a welcoming and positive experience for patients by helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout their orthodontic visit.
  • Assist the Orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures, including adjustments, bonding, debonding, retainer appointments, and other clinical treatments.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure appointments run efficiently and on schedule.
  • Take diagnostic records, including digital x-rays, photographs, and scans/impressions as needed.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, retainers, aligners, and post-treatment instructions to support successful outcomes.
  • Monitor patient flow and work closely with the clinical team to maintain an efficient schedule and minimize wait times.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update patient records as needed.
  • Follow all infection control, sterilization, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment area.
  • Collaborate closely with the orthodontic team to support exceptional patient care and day-to-day office operations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience is preferred.
  • Orthodontic experience strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with dental experience and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to help patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable attitude.
  • Comfort using orthodontic/dental software and digital imaging technology.
  • Current certifications and licensure as required by state regulations.
