Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $78,500.00 Annually

Join our dedicated and energetic team of educators as a Special Education Teacher in the Raymond Hill School. The school serves elementary, middle, and high school students in need of specialized services delivered in an environment of safety and caring.
The Special Education Teacher teaches one or more skills or courses to assigned students to guide them toward greater realization of potential.
Responsibilities- Reviews intake records, treatment plans, and the individual education program of each student.
- Participates in the development and monitoring of a special educational program for each student, including PPT/IEP meetings as mandated in state and federal regulations.
- Develops social, behavioral, and community living skills within the academic framework.
- Reviews the treatment goals and objectives of all students assigned to the classroom and consults with appropriate staff members to provide therapeutic responses to each.
- Establishes and maintains a comfortable classroom climate, providing stability, safety, security, and discipline.
- Assures consistent, coordinated treatment within the classroom and fosters the development of confidence and self‑esteem.
- Participates in group meetings of Education Program staff to review student progress and monitor the total treatment plan.
- Participates in conferences with family members, advising concerning student needs, behavior, and progress.
- Modifies education programs as appropriate.
- Participates in the supervision, evaluation, and training of assigned staff assistants.
Ten‑month position with the option to work the 5‑week Extended School Year Program for additional compensation.
Education / Experience / Other RequirementsBachelor's Degree and state certification in special education required; two to four years of experience in a relevant specialty area as a special education teacher preferred. Acquisition and maintenance of certifications in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid required.
