Para educator Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Chamberlain Deaf/Hard of Hearing invites interested candidates to apply for the Para educator Deaf/Hard of Hearing position. The D/HH program at Chamberlain Elementary school for K-5 students promotes D/HH peer engagement, universal design embedded into the physical environment, and centralized D/HH services including a Teacher of D/HH, Speech Language Pathologist/Aural Habilitation, and an auditory testing booth.
The D/HH para educator works under the supervision of the Teacher of D/HH and Speech Language Pathologist to provide specialized support to students who are D/HH. The para educator should be trained or will be trained in equipment use, as well as ASL and/or other pertinent strategies required for communication with the D/HH population. Paraeducators also provide support to D/HH students at other schools, district wide, PreK - 12, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: a minimum of 60 college credits, or a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment.
Salary Starting Salary: $21.70 per hour
