Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional, Special Education Assistant, Special Needs / Learning Disabilities

This full-time, contract opportunity offers a unique chance to work closely with students in a supportive school environment from now through June 11, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours (8:45AM3:45PM).

Qualifications:
- ASL proficiency with experience using American Sign Language in educational settings
- Previous experience supporting children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH)
- Valid ASL certification (must be submitted with your application)
- Comfort and experience working 1:1 with students, including those with special needs
- Ability to assist with personal care, including toileting and diapering, when necessary
- High school diploma required
- Must pass required district background checks and complete necessary paperwork
- Prior experience in paraprofessional or related roles strongly preferred
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized 1:1 support to an elementary school student in the mornings and to a middle school student in the afternoons
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs
- Utilize ASL skills to effectively communicate and facilitate learning for students who are D/HH
- Support students with activities of daily living and personal care, as needed
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and special education staff
- Maintain documentation and comply with school policies and procedures
