Job Description & How to Apply Below

A nationally recognized, ENR Top 50 heavy civil contractor is seeking a Project Manager to lead high-profile CDOT / Amtrak infrastructure projects throughout the New Haven area. This is an opportunity to join one of New England’s premier transportation builders, known for delivering complex rail, transit, bridge, and highway projects while offering long-term career growth, strong regional stability, and a people-first culture.

About

the Opportunity

This role will oversee major rail and transit work from preconstruction through closeout, managing project execution, client relationships, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field coordination on complex public infrastructure projects. Ideal for someone with Amtrak, commuter rail, or transportation-heavy civil experience looking to step into a long-term platform rather than project-to-project movement.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Long-term team-based employment model (regional focus vs. constant relocation)
  • Dedicated learning & development team with individualized growth plans
  • Vehicle or vehicle allowance for leadership-level employees
  • Annual bonuses + yearly compensation reviews
  • Consistent cost-of-living increases
  • Strong pipeline in rail, transit, bridge, and transportation infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project lifecycle from preconstruction through execution and closeout
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and cost controls
  • Coordinate with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and internal operations teams
  • Drive safety, quality, and schedule performance
  • Oversee complex rail/transit infrastructure operations in active environments
  • Support team development and client relationship management
Preferred Background
  • Project Management experience in heavy civil, transportation, rail, or transit
  • Amtrak, commuter rail, bridge, or major public infrastructure experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of public agency work, scheduling, and field coordination
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure budgets and teams

This is a strong opportunity for a PM looking to work on impactful transportation projects while joining a contractor with a reputation for stability, career progression, and major infrastructure leadership.
