Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to support financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in New Britain, Connecticut. This role will oversee core accounting activities, provide insight into financial performance, and help maintain accurate reporting across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial records are complete, timely, and accurate.

- Analyze budget-to-actual results and explain key variances to support financial decision-making.

- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across balance sheet and income statement accounts.

- Support internal and external audit activities by organizing documentation and responding to financial inquiries.

- Monitor cash flow activity and help maintain visibility into short-term and ongoing funding needs.

- Review accounting data for accuracy and consistency while strengthening financial controls and reporting reliability. Requirements - Proven experience working in a Controller or senior accounting capacity.

- Strong hands-on background in preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate general ledger records.

- Demonstrated ability to conduct variance analysis and communicate financial trends clearly.

- Experience completing account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Working knowledge of audit support processes and financial documentation standards.

- Ability to manage cash flow reporting and prioritize multiple accounting deadlines effectively.
