Our client is a private equity firm in CT, with a successful track record of raising and deploying capital. They offer flexible capital solutions for lower middle market companies across a number of industry verticals. They currently manage over $6B with their most recent fund raise over $2.5B. Our client is seeking to expand their existing portfolio through new platform and add-on acquisitions.

The firm is seeking a Pre‑MBA Associate to join their Software Investment team. This individual will gain experience across a wide range of transaction sizes, and will receive in-depth exposure to evaluating, executing, and managing investments.
ResponsibilitiesThey are seeking an Investment Associate with strong analytical skills and a self‑starter mindset. The Associate will, among other things:
- Review new transactions alongside the firm's investment professionals and develop supporting analyses
- Analyze and research market sectors to identify potential investment opportunities
- Attend and be an active member in management presentations
- Develop and manage financial models and analyses for prospective acquisitions
- Support lender diligence and evaluation of investments
- Assist in the transaction diligence and underwriting process
- Compose investment committee approval documents
- Participate in portfolio company management and attend board meetings
- Assist CFOs in the development of financial reporting packages
- Participate in strategy sessions and help identify opportunities to enhance the business
- Develop KPI’s and maintain performance tracking metrics
- Produce analyses and data for institutional investor meetings and calls
- Support investment professionals and management in the portfolio company sale process
- Two to three years of Investment Banking or Private Equity experience
- Excellent academic credentials from a top‑tier school
- Strong accounting and financial modeling skills
- Business acumen with track record of evaluating lower middle market investment opportunities
- Experience evaluating and working with companies in the industrial, consumer, and/or business services sector is a plus
- High level of professionalism, maturity and superior attention to detail
- Solid work ethic and communication capabilities
- Ability to work as a member of a small team handling a wide range of responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the desire and ability to interact with general partners, clients and external parties
- Preference for residing or relocating to Connecticut or Westchester County
