Role, Team & ResponsibilitiesThe Finance Business Partner will report to the Head of FP&A and will contribute to critical financial management functions of the Hiscox USA FP&A team. There will be a specific focus on expense planning, reporting, and optimization. The role will also be an integral part of the broader Finance team, interacting with finance professionals and corporate finance teams outside of the FP&A team.
Success in this role requires a combination of strong technical expertise and the ability to engage with business and finance partners to drive results and financial insight.
- Support the Head of FP&A and the broader FP&A team to coordinate annual business/expense planning and the quarterly reforecast process.
- Assist in month actuals reporting for senior management with appropriate commentary that provides financial insight.
- Lead certain monthly forecasting processes through business understanding and engagement with business leads.
- Ensure deadlines are met while preparing presentations for leadership.
- Create detailed financial models to help deliver on strategic initiatives.
- Ensure financial data is accurate and reconciles across various financial systems.
- Support monthly expense analysis, including booking reserve entries and monitoring headcount, to track annual spending vs budget and prior year.
- Proactively collaborate and partner with business leaders to track spending and find expense risks and opportunities.
- Play an integral role in key management reporting like the Quarterly Business Review.
- Bachelor's in a Business‑Related Field, preferably Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred but not required.
- 6+ years of finance experience.
- Experience with in the P&C insurance industry preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills; must be detail‑ and results‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Self‑directed, organized and self‑motivated to accomplish goals.
- Able to handle competing priorities in a dynamic business environment.
- Experience building financial models.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship building skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing.
- Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel proficiency, general ledger software, and financial data warehouse. Experience with large ERP systems and Hyperion tools is preferred.

$95,000 - $125,000 per year. The actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
