Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager, General Management
Job Overview. The Director of Program Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple strategic programs and project managers across the organization. This position ensures alignment with business objectives, drives governance and consistency across the project management team and fosters collaboration throughout. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, team development and the ability to manage complex initiatives that span multiple departments and geographies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement program management strategies, frameworks, and best practices aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage a portfolio of programs, ensuring prioritization, resource allocation, and alignment with business objectives.
- Adopt and enforce established governance processes for program initiation, approval, and monitoring; ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee program planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management; monitor progress and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with executives, department heads, and cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track program performance, identify variances, and communicate status to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains; implement lessons learned and share best practices across teams.
- Hire, mentor, and manage program managers and staff; foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). - 15 years in program or project management, with at least 8 years in a leadership role overseeing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale programs on time and within budget, including enterprise-level change initiatives.
- Global Program Management:
Experience managing programs that span multiple countries or regions. - Advanced
Certifications:
PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, SAFe, ITIL or other relevant advanced certifications. - Executive Communication:
Experience presenting to and collaborating with C-level executives and board members.
