CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer Role Overview

Responsible for developing CNC programs and machining methods to support the production of precision components. This role includes process planning, tooling strategy, fixture concepts, and creation of shop documentation to support efficient and repeatable manufacturing.

• Develop machining methods and strategies for producing complex parts
• Create and modify CNC programs based on engineering models and requirements
• Design and support fixturing concepts as needed for machining operations
• Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters
• Validate machining processes using simulation or verification tools
• Create setup documentation and shop instructions with proper tolerances
• Support production by troubleshooting programming or process issues
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and shop personnel
• Ensure programs and processes meet applicable quality standards

• Several years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
• Prior experience programming CNC equipment
• Knowledge of machining methods, tooling, and metal cutting processes
• Experience supporting multi-axis milling and turning operations
• Familiarity with machining a variety of metal types
• Working knowledge of CNC code concepts (G/M code)
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems for drafting, modeling, and programming
• Ability to work with 3D models and digital part data
• General computer proficiency, including standard office software
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Occasional travel may be required for training or cross-site support
• Job duties may evolve based on operational needs
