Position Overview

Brix Cannabis is seeking a Post Harvest and Packaging Manager to lead and oversee all post harvest processing and packaging operations. This role is responsible for managing trimming, curing, processing, packaging, workflow optimization, and team leadership while ensuring compliance with State of Connecticut regulations and Brix Cannabis quality standards.

The Post Harvest and Packaging Manager plays a critical role in ensuring consistent product output, maintaining production efficiency, and supporting the successful release of finished goods. This position is responsible for meeting departmental production, quality, and compliance performance targets.

Responsibilities
  • Standards Development:
    Establish and maintain trimming, curing, sorting, and packaging standards using Brix Cannabis equipment and methodologies
  • Production Coordination:
    Oversee production and packaging of pre rolls, pre packaged flower, and other finished goods
  • Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules
  • Monitor yields, throughput, labor efficiency, and quality metrics
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
    Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for post harvest and packaging operations
  • Train staff on SOP adherence, safety standards, and best practices
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational procedures
  • Equipment Evaluation and Implementation:
    Evaluate post harvest and packaging equipment to improve efficiency and workflow performance
  • Assist in selection, implementation, and validation of new equipment and automation technologies
  • Team Leadership, Hiring, and Development:
    Supervise Post Harvest and Packaging Technicians
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring department staff in collaboration with Human Resources and leadership
  • Provide onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence
  • Workflow Optimization:
    Analyze and optimize post harvest and packaging workflows to improve throughput and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with Brix Management to maintain production alignment and operational efficiency
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure all post harvest and packaging operations comply with Connecticut cannabis regulations and Brix internal compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate production, batch, and inventory records
  • Biosecurity and Quality Control:
    Enforce sanitation, contamination prevention, and biosecurity protocols; support product stability, storage integrity, and quality assurance programs
Qualifications And Skills
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in cannabis, manufacturing, agriculture, or a related production environment required
  • Strong understanding of cannabis post harvest processes including drying, curing, trimming, and packaging operations
  • Experience developing SOPs, production workflows, and quality control programs required
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Experience interviewing, hiring, and developing production staff preferred
  • Working knowledge of Connecticut cannabis regulations preferred
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant operational and inventory management systems required
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements
