Kaman Measuring & Memory is seeking an Assembler Technician who is responsible for performing a variety of electronic and mechanical assembly operations in support of manufacturing programs. Working under the direct supervision of the Group Leader, this role follows detailed work instructions, drawings, and procedures to ensure product quality, functionality, and compliance with company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general assembly operations, including printed wire board assembly, conformal coating, potting, ultrasonic cleaning, coil winding, crimping, wire stripping, soldering, evac & backfill, component forming, and painting, as required by program or process.
  • Assist with in-process testing using LCR meters and multi-meters.
  • Serialize sensors and label electronic components to support sales order traceability requirements.
  • Work from assembly drawings, routing sheets, verbal instructions, written process descriptions, and visual work instructions to ensure quality and product functionality.
  • Maintain required ESD and soldering certifications (IPC J-STD-001).
  • Document and record test results, completed work, and any rework activities accurately.
  • Assist in identifying causes of component, subassembly, or system failures and support rework activities under the direction of Engineering and/or the Group Leader.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to Engineering regarding assembly process improvements.
  • Support company quality initiatives, including AS9100 and Statistical Process Control (SPC), and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in training and guiding employees in various assembly operations as needed.
  • Remain flexible and willing to work in different work cells based on business needs.
  • Report unusual conditions, defects, or issues to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • 0-1 year of related assembly or manufacturing experience
Skills & Abilities:
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a quality-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and maintain required certifications
