Five Frogs is an antiracist social impact organization committed to building a powerful, inclusive movement of courageous leaders across Connecticut. For more than 15 years, we have supported leaders to grow, connect, and act together to create lasting, positive change for an equitable Connecticut.
As we enter our strategic plan, we are expanding our capacity to activate and sustain our growing alumni network. The Network Engagement Lead will play a pivotal role in weaving the relationships, learning, and collective action that strengthen Connecticut's nonprofit and civic ecosystem.
Position SummaryThe Network Engagement Lead is responsible for designing, cultivating, and sustaining a vibrant, connected leadership network across Connecticut. This role will deepen relationships among Five Frogs alumni, foster spaces of belonging and shared learning, and support the emergence of cross-sector collaborations that strengthen organizational and community wellbeing.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder, convener, and facilitator who brings curiosity, care, and a deep commitment to equity and collective leadership. They understand that connection and trust are the foundation of transformation and are skilled at creating the conditions for people to show up fully, learn from one another, and act together.
Key Responsibilities Network Engagement & Relationship Building (30%)- Cultivate strong relationships with Five Frogs alumni, partners, and stakeholders across the state.
- Develop and implement a network engagement strategy centered on belonging, collaborative learning and equitable results.
- Host regular touchpoints with alumni to understand needs, identify opportunities, and foster connection.
- Serve as a connector—matching leaders, ideas, and opportunities across the network.
- Design and facilitate gatherings, workshops, and events that deepen trust and shared purpose.
- Coordinate an annual statewide network convening.
- Create spaces where leaders can slow down, reflect, and learn from one another.
- Support peer learning circles, leadership cohorts, and communities of practice.
- Staff and support an Alumni Advisory Committee that reflects the diversity, experience, and values of the Five Frogs network.
- Partner with the Executive Director to recruit, onboard, and support committee members.
- Design meeting agendas and facilitate or co-facilitate regular advisory committee meetings.
- Support the committee in providing strategic input on network engagement, programming, and emergent opportunities.
- Manage the digital intranet or community platform for network engagement.
- Develop digital content, updates, and communication rhythms that strengthen network cohesion.
- Ensure accessibility, inclusion, and ease of use across all digital touchpoints.
- Identify and support opportunities for cross-sector collaboration among alumni and partners.
- Help alumni self-organize around shared challenges, opportunities, or experiments.
- Document and amplify stories of collective action and leadership impact.
- Track network engagement, belonging indicators, and outcomes aligned with the strategic plan.
- Support continuous learning by collecting feedback from alumni and partners.
- Collaborate with staff and consultants to analyze, reflect on, and report network impact.
- 3+ years experience in community organizing, leadership development, network building, or facilitation
- Skilled facilitator with experience holding reflective, inclusive, and culturally affirming spaces.
- Strong interpersonal skills rooted in curiosity, compassion, and cultural humility.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic, emergent environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with digital community platforms and communication tools.
- Experience with leadership development, coaching, or adult learning.
- Familiarity with adaptive leadership, emergent strategy, or relational leadership frameworks.
- Knowledge of Connecticut’s nonprofit, civic, or community landscape.
