Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes evidence‑based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The Nurse develops a plan of care for complex, multi‑varianced populations of patients, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
Qualifications Education- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.
- One year of experience with a minimum of 1,000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.
- Registered Nurse, State of Connecticut.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties.
Must be able to effectively communicate information in English.
Knowledge, Skills And Ability Requirements- Applies principles and practices of nursing.
- Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate patient care.
- Provides full patient assignment with expanding scope of responsibilities over time.
- Knowledge of high reliability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; fosters a healthy work environment and facilitates positive patient outcomes and experiences.
- Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers.
- Strong knowledge and skills in providing care for age‑specific populations.
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Acts as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.
- Self‑directed in clinical responsibilities.
- Manages and organizes multiple clinical priorities.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with industry applications/programs; learns new technology and programs as advancements and changes are implemented.
