Position: Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) - Critical Care

About This Role

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in Critical Care is a Registered Nurse responsible for supervising patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to lead and enhance patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise patient care and clinical personnel in the critical care unit.
  • Oversee daily operations of the assigned department, including off-shift and weekend supervision.
  • Manage resources, quality improvement, and payroll.
  • Create and maintain colleague schedules.
  • Monitor patient throughput to facilitate efficient clinical operations.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic unit environment, working as a staff RN as needed.
  • Support leadership in fostering standards of excellence and professional development.
  • Participate in and may lead Performance Improvement work in the department.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; existing incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years.

Experience:

  • 2 years of acute care nursing experience required.
  • 5 years of Critical Care experience required; management roles preferred.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience required.

Licenses &

Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of CT.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Other certifications may be required by specialty.
