About This Role
The Registered Nurse Acute (RN) in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive care to patients during labor and delivery, utilizing evidence-based practices in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about maternal and newborn health.
Highlights- Location: New Britain, CT
- Facility: The Hospital of Central Connecticut
- Schedule: Full Time, Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every 3rd weekend, every other holiday)
- Develop a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced populations of patients.
- Utilize evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
- Provide care that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
- Manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.
- Act as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers.
- Apply principles and practices of nursing in patient care.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
- One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.
Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse License in Connecticut.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties.
- Automatic enrollment into the Nurse Residency Program for all graduate RNs with less than one year of experience.
