Primary ResponsibilitiesThis skilled position involves maintenance of all company equipment. Union position offering competitive pay, strong benefits, and the security that comes with collective bargaining.
Principle Accountabilities- Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains construction equipment such as trucks, trailers, cranes, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, bulldozers, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.
- Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
- Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions.
- Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Thorough mechanical knowledge of equipment and vehicles.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Minimum of 2 years experience mechanical/PM maintenance of construction and off highway equipment.
- CDL Class B with Airbrake, Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA, MSHA and state agencies. Required equipment may include a hard hat, safety glasses, face shield, welding helmet, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, respirator, air monitor and reflective safety vest.
Physical Demands- Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Stand, walk, sit, reach, drive, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and perform repetitive motion.
- Work frequently near moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and heat.
- Work usually outside, with some vibration exposure.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- Position is first‑shift days; some Saturday work may be required.
