Program Coordinator
Location: New Britain, CT
Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
- Oversee daily program operations, ensuring activities support skill building, community engagement, and participant goals.
- Manage staff scheduling, coverage, timesheets, attendance, and time‑off requests to maintain adequate staffing.
- Supervise rehabilitation staff, monitor performance, and ensure services are delivered safely and effectively.
- Interview and train new employees while providing ongoing coaching and support to maintain a positive, person‑centered culture.
- Coordinate community outings, special events, and daily program activities.
- Complete and review required documentation, including progress notes, attendance, incident reports, and billing records.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and all state and federal regulations, including DDS, Medicaid, CARF, and Department of Labor requirements.
- Monitor participant progress, update goals, maintain accurate files, and address behavioral or support needs using appropriate interventions.
- Communicate with families, guardians, case managers, clinicians, and worksite partners to support participant needs and resolve issues.
- Build community partnerships to expand vocational, recreational, and volunteer opportunities.
- Identify resources and opportunities that enhance participant independence and quality of life.
- Address facility needs by coordinating with the Program Manager and building landlord.
- Ensure participant safety during all program activities and respond to emergencies or crises as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or in a human services, education, or behavioral health setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team‑lead role, including coaching, training, and supporting staff.
- Knowledge of disability services, person‑centered practices, and community inclusion principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and best practices for supporting individuals with varying needs.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
- Ability to travel locally and operate a company vehicle as required.
- Valid Real .
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Experience working with or alongside DDS, Medicaid, CARF, or other regulatory standards.
- Experience coordinating programs, activities, or services, in a community‑based or day program environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, guardians, staff, and community partners.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
