The Champaign County Highway Department has multiple openings for part time seasonal snowplow operators to plow snow on the county highways for the  snowplow season.

Work hours will vary based on snowfall and need. Champaign County operates snow removal equipment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 12‑hour split shifts until the roads are clear. Operators may plow at night, during the day, and on weekends depending on need.

• Operate snow plow equipment to clear county roads.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safe operation.
• Report equipment issues or incidents immediately.
• Work shifts 12 hours, 24/7 as needed.

• Applicants must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brake endorsement.
• Snow plowing experience is desired, but not required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Snowplow operator’s wages will be $28/hour.
