- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL – Class
A) with appropriate endorsements. - Experience moving construction equipment is REQUIRED. Familiarity with local and federal transportation regulations.
- The job consists of moving construction equipment, including safely loading, unloading and hauling the equipment to its destination throughout CT and New England.
- Must understand overweight routing as most of our loads require overweight permits.
- Must be able to apply for and manage their own permits.
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and weight distribution.
- Possess an understanding of the operation of various pieces of equipment, sufficient to load/unload from the transport vehicle.
- Ability to perform routing vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to perform work in daytime and nighttime conditions
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with ground crews and dispatch.
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies. Protective equipment that is required for this position:
Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, safety vest/high visibility clothing for any work in the field. Hearing protection.
