About the Opportunity

A well‑established construction services firm based in Northern New Jersey is hiring a Senior Accountant to support its growing finance team. The company delivers complex, project‑driven work across the region and is known for long employee tenure, strong leadership, and steady backlog.

This role blends core GL ownership with hands‑on job costing
, making it ideal for someone who wants both traditional accounting depth and exposure to construction operations.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month‑end close, financial reporting, and project accounting. You’ll partner closely with operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, clean financials, and real‑time visibility into project performance.

• Own general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Support month‑end close and internal financial reporting
• Perform budget vs. actual analysis and explain project‑level variances
• Maintain job cost, WIP, and related project subledgers
• Track labor, materials, subcontractors, and change orders
• Support percentage‑of‑completion accounting where applicable
• Assist with billing support, cash flow visibility, and forecasting
• Support audits, GAAP compliance, and process improvements
• Maintain accurate data within Sage Intacct

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally within construction or project‑based environments
• Strong GL, close, and reconciliation experience
• Exposure to job costing and WIP strongly preferred
• Sage Intacct experience required
• CPA or CPA‑track a plus, not required

• Stable, well‑run construction organization with long‑term visibility
