Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager – Somerset County, NJ
• Salary: $90,000–$100,000, based on experience

The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong internal controls. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Executive Management to support cost accounting, inventory management and financial decision‑making in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on accounting expertise, leadership capability and a strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures.

• Manage the monthly/quarterly/annual close processes and financial reporting
• Manage General Ledger, Journal Entries, account reconciliations and balance sheet integrity
• Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training and performance management
• Lead cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin analysis
• Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reserves
• Partner with operations and supply chain to analyze production costs and improve operational efficiency
• Prepare and review management reports, KPIs and financial analyses for Executive Management
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and support internal and external audits
• Coordinate with tax and external advisors on compliance, filings and documentation
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning initiatives
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements within the accounting function

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• 4+ years’ progressive accounting experience within the manufacturing industry
• Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing cost accounting principles
• Experience with inventory accounting and production environments
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with operations and leadership
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with managing ERP software integrations a big plus
