Accounting Manager

Description

Our company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a contract position based fully onsite in New Brunswick, NJ. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee daily accounting operations, support month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure adherence to accounting principles and controls. This role is fully onsite and is a consulting opportunity, expected to be about 6 months.

Responsibilities:

+ Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting

+ Manage and mentor accounting staff; coordinate workflow and support professional development

+ Drive month- and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies

+ Collaborate with other departments for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

+ Maintain internal accounting controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company standards

+ Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management

+ Support external audit and tax filing activities

+ Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency

+ Manage payroll processing and related functions as needed

+ Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing within accounting systems

Requirements

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices

+ Proven experience with accounting controls and payroll management

+ High proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft D365, Oracle Net Suite, SAP, Quick Books, or Workday

+ Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power

BI or SQL is a plus

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

+ Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to work onsite daily in New Brunswick, NJ
