Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Office Assistant for the Dean of Students. Among the key duties are the following:
- Prioritizes and coordinates daily administrative functions, resolves routine issues, and assists with the development and implementation of office procedures and guidelines.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for students, student staff, and visitors, providing accurate information, guidance, and referrals related to commuter student programs, services, and resources.
- Maintains a working knowledge of a broad range of university policies, services, and commuter-focused initiatives to ensure students are effectively supported and connected.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and/or 4 years of relevant office experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask seamlessly with demonstrated success in solving complex issues and problems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities and skills to effectively communicate across multiple channels of stakeholders, faculty, student, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a high‑paced office environment with proven success in customer service initiatives.
- Experience in project and event management.

Immunization RequirementsUnder Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
