Transfusion Medicine Pathologist Faculty Position - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ
RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, are seeking a Transfusion Medicine Pathologist to join our faculty in New Brunswick, NJ.
This role offers the opportunity to provide advanced transfusion and blood banking services, teach the next generation of physicians, and engage in impactful research within New Jersey's largest integrated health care delivery system.
The minimum salary for this position if hired to work is $250,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Posting Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers RWJMS invites applications for a faculty position in the Division of Transfusion Medicine. The Division provides Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) - the school's 650-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the multidisciplinary transfusion team at RWJMS and RWJUH, provide clinical expertise in transfusion and cellular therapy, and participate in departmental education, teaching medical students and residents. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement efforts within the Department.
Position Highlights
Provide transfusion medicine and blood banking services across Rutgers, RWJUH, and RWJBarnabas Health partners
Deliver complex transfusion consultations, stem cell collection and infusion, cellular therapy (adult and pediatric), apheresis, and support for complex coagulation conditions
Collaborate with institutional leadership, physician colleagues, and nursing teams to ensure high-quality patient care
Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and in departmental conferences and grand rounds
Contribute to departmental quality initiatives and process improvements
Promote the program regionally and nationally at academic conferences
Participate in call coverage as assigned by the Chair of Pathology
Engage in scholarly and research activities
Requirements
MD, DO, or MBBS degree required
Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey
Upon hire, must be eligible to obtain a CDS and/or DEA if required
Board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
Board certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine by the American Board of Pathology
