Position: Program Coordinator I

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Rutgers University is the largest academic unit of the University and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning humanities, social, physical and life sciences and over 100 different majors, plus programs, centers, bureaus and institutes. Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Research on Women Institute. The Institute for Research on Women (IRW) is a nationally and internationally recognized hub of interdisciplinary feminist scholarship in the School of Arts and Sciences. IRW runs the Rutgers Public Engagement Project, develops publications (including its Feminist Bookshelf book series, the online journal Rejoinder, and the podcast Mnemosyne), supports working groups, and hosts visiting scholars from around the world.

This is a fully grant funded position.

Responsibilities
  • Provides support for IRW’s Director and Executive Director and is responsible for organizing, administering, and coordinating multiple facets of the unit’s work.
  • Manages IRW’s purchasing, financial, and budget functions.
  • Coordinates planning and procedures related to all IRW’s programs and events with oversight of all logistical arrangements.
  • Helps with podcasting and social media campaigns. Leads photography, video, and multimedia initiatives.
  • Maintains website, social media, and You Tube sites.
  • Provides research and copyediting support, as well as design input, for IRW’s extensive ongoing publications.
  • Researches and recommends methods to expand communication with internal and external constituents.
Compensation & Benefits

Grade: 04

Minimum Salary: $59,893.48 | Mid‑Range Salary: $73,909.48 | Maximum Salary: $87,925.48

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices, as well as office administration and organization.
  • A minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong research, analytical, and writing skills, computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat), and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Strong problem‑solving and multi‑tasking abilities.
  • Initiative and a high sense of responsibility, a cooperative approach to responsibilities, and sound judgment.
