Posting Summary
- The Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences seeks a "Climate Resiliency Curriculum Specialist" to support the SNJ-DEP project titled, "Building a Climate Ready NJ (Resilience Design Implementation-RDI)." The position will provide subject matter expertise in curriculum development, educational programming, and project planning to support the Climate Resiliency Club pilot program. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and graduate students, the specialist will develop engaging, solutions-focused educational materials that promote climate resiliency and environmental stewardship.
This is a grant-funded position, employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of funds.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Education, Environmental Education, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Sustainability, Urban Planning, or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, educational programming, outreach, or STEM education
Certifications/Licenses
- None required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design principles. Knowledge of climate resiliency, sustainability, environmental science, or related disciplines. Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual collaboration platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing environmental or STEM educational curriculum. Experience mentoring students or coordinating educational programs. Experience working with grant-funded projects or community outreach initiatives
Equipment Utilized
- Standard office equipment. Computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom or Microsoft Teams).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily computer-based and may be performed in a remote or office environment. Occasional attendance at meetings or project activities may be required.
