Cancer Pharmacology and Drug Discovery – Tenure Track Faculty (Assistant/Associate)

Rutgers Cancer Institute invites applications for tenure‑track faculty positions in cancer research. New faculty at the Assistant or Associate level are expected to establish or support an innovative, independent research program addressing fundamental questions in cancer biology, pharmacology, and drug discovery, including molecular target biology, mechanisms of action, resistance, and translational approaches. Faculty will be integrated into teaching activities for medical students and residents and may give targeted lectures in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead an independent research program focused on cancer pharmacology and drug discovery.
  • Secure and manage peer‑reviewed funding, including grant proposals and budgets.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary faculty across the Rutgers Cancer Institute and consortium partners.
  • Teach courses, mentor graduate students and postdocs, and deliver selected lectures.
  • Contribute to departmental service and outreach activities.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalent advanced degree).
  • Strong research record with demonstrated potential for substantial grant funding.
  • Outstanding academic credentials and a publication record in high‑impact journals.
  • Experience in translational cancer research, drug discovery, or clinical therapeutics is preferred.
