Lecturer — Educational Theory, Policy & Administration
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) at Rutgers University seeks a temporary summer lecturer to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of educational theory, policy, social and philosophical foundations of education, and related areas. Courses include, but are not limited to, history of education, philosophy of education, gender and race in education, urban education, sociology of education, public school finance, policy analysis, school leadership, and queer issues in schools.
Instruction will take place in New Brunswick and may be delivered in hybrid or online formats.
- Teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate level courses during the Summer 2026 session.
- Develop, submit, and update syllabi; manage course schedules; conduct lectures, seminars, and office hours.
- Engage students through synchronous and asynchronous instruction and promptly respond to student emails.
- Assess student performance, provide timely and constructive feedback, and submit grades in accordance with department policy.
- Attend orientation and other required trainings; comply with university policies and deadlines.
- Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred.
- Strong scholarly background and experience in educational theory, policy, or a related discipline.
- Prior teaching or instructional experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, preferably in a P‑12 or higher‑education setting.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver curriculum in hybrid or online formats.
- Commitment to inclusive, equitable teaching practices.
