Position Summary

The position is to be the full time Youth Pastor for the Graceway Youth Ministry(“GYM”) which serves all students from 6th to 12th grade. The role of the Youth Pastor is to engage with the families and students of Graceway Presbyterian Church(“GPC”) by nurturing an environment where the students can experience the love and grace of God and come to place their trust in Jesus Christ.

In addition to leading GYM, the Youth Pastor will be part of the Graceway pastoral staff and will be expected to support the mission and programs of the church. The Youth Group Pastor will be accountable to the Graceway Session and will report to the Senior Pastor.

The required qualifications are:

Baptized and has made a personal decision to be an ongoing disciple of Jesus Christ

Committed to Reformed Theology
Maintain a clear background check
M. Div degree preferred

Responsibilities
The following are the responsibilities of the position:

Commit to pray, love, and support all Graceway children and their parents.

Strive to build positive, healthy, and affirming relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.

Communicate with parents in ways that encourage partnership and involvement.

Recruit, train, supervise, and encourage volunteer leadership in GYM.

Plan and implement a long-term vision and curriculum for the GYM students which encourages the students toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Lead weekly Sunday GYM worship including weekly Sunday preaching.

Participate in pastoral staff meetings and Session meetings as scheduled, providing ministry updates.

Lead and coordinate weekly student activities which provides a time for students to meet on a regular basis to deepen friendships and build community.

Support special events such as the Graceway annual retreat, annual GYM retreat and Christmas/Easter presentations and coordinate relevant GYM based activities during those church events.

$48,000 - $63,500 annual salary depending on experience
4 weeks of vacation per year
2 weeks of continuing education per year
