About the Role

Pure Power is seeking a Senior Business Developer to spearhead strategic growth initiatives within the Utility Scale and Distributed Generation segments of the solar and energy storage markets. This pivotal role involves building and nurturing high-value client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth. The Senior Business Developer will manage an existing portfolio of clients, lead engagement efforts with key decision-makers, and represent the company at industry trade shows and client meetings.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry, excellent sales acumen, and the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders. This role requires a proactive, self-driven individual capable of operating independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Travel is an essential component of this position to facilitate client interactions and industry events across the country.

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in business development, account management, or technical sales, preferably within solar, energy storage, engineering, or related B2B sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles from prospecting to closing.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to develop and present compelling proposals.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and presentation capabilities.
  • High proficiency in CRM systems, with Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 35% nationwide for client meetings, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Preferred qualifications include experience coaching or managing junior sales staff and an understanding of engineering service scopes to effectively articulate technical value propositions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies based on customer performance data and market insights to achieve growth targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and engage early with developers, EPCs, and system owners to foster relationships.
  • Lead the full sales cycle, including client discovery, technical diligence, scope development, proposal preparation, and closing negotiations.
  • Prepare detailed proposals that accurately reflect engineering scopes, commercial terms, and contractual obligations.
  • Negotiate pricing, schedules, and contractual language, ensuring internal alignment and compliance.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, accurately forecast revenue in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and review activity metrics regularly to refine strategies.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with senior decision-makers, conducting regular check-ins and business reviews to address client needs and resolve issues.
  • Represent Pure Power at onsite client meetings, industry conferences, and trade shows, promoting the company’s services and expertise.
