CALIBRE is an employee‑owned, mission‑focused solutions and digital transformation company. We are seeking a Technical Writer to support configuration, data management, and technical documentation activities on Kwajalein Atoll, located on Roi‑Namur in the Marshall Islands.
This is an unaccompanied assignment (no family or pets) and offers unique overseas benefits, including free housing, three meals per day, and potential eligibility for U.S. overseas tax incentives.
Job DescriptionThe Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, reports, and configuration materials supporting range instrumentation systems and engineering activities. The position will also assist in Configuration and Data Management (CDM) functions to ensure compliance with program and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation in support of range instrumentation systems.
- Implement systems Configuration and Data Management activities to meet program contractual requirements.
- Support baseline control of all delivered systems configuration items and documentation.
- Analyze product design changes (drawings, specifications, operations manuals, test plans) to determine impacts on system baselines.
- Control, update, and maintain configuration documentation resulting from audits or technical baseline changes.
- Utilize SharePoint to collect, monitor, and distribute system information through review and approval processes.
- Maintain SharePoint repositories and ensure information is accessible to field personnel.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to produce contractually required deliverables.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established configuration standards and accuracy requirements.
- Cross‑train with the Configuration Management (CM) Analyst on Engineering Change Proposal/Project, Study, and Task (ECP/PST) processes to support team coverage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Highly organized with the ability to independently manage schedules and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills; examples required.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a development engineering or technical documentation environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Must be able to relocate to the U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
- Flexibility to work occasional non‑duty hours or weekends to support project or mission needs.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
