Posting SummaryRutgers seeks a Research Specialist (Research Engineering Manager) in the Civil & Environmental Engineering department. The role focuses on advanced cementitious materials projects, requiring extensive laboratory and field expertise to synthesize research results and translate findings into practical testing and analysis procedures.
- Coordinate resources, execute projects, and manage laboratory and fieldwork effectively.
- Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for multiple sponsored research projects.
- Supervise research personnel to ensure compliance, quality, and timely delivery of project outcomes.
Minimum: $71,447 | Mid Range: $90,435 | Maximum: $109,422
The final salary will be determined by factors such as qualifications, experience, availability of grant funds, market benchmarks, and internal equity.

- Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering or related field, or Bachelor of Engineering with 2 years of field and research engineering experience. Experience must involve overseeing laboratory operations, coordinating research projects, and guiding staff to ensure quality, compliance, and timely execution.
- Master's degree.
- 4 years of related field and research experience and 2+ years of research engineering experience.
- OSHA 30 certification and EIT.
- ASTM and AASHTO laboratory testing.
- Structural Health Monitoring management.
- Involves physical demands associated with managing various concrete and field-related works.
Position requires fully on-site work arrangement.
