Assistant Engineer - New Brunswick City
A dynamic urban center with a population of 56,000+ seeks full‑time candidates to serve as an Assistant Engineer. The Assistant Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Division Head and will assist with the following duties:
- Construction and site inspections for development and capital improvement projects;
- Stormwater and sanitary sewer inspections and mapping;
- Preparation of civil/site plan sets including grading, drainage and utility layouts;
- Planning and zoning board subdivision and site plan application review;
- Maintenance and updates to City maps;
- Attendance at required night meetings;
- Coordination with the New Brunswick Water Utility on capital improvement projects as well as various private utilities.
Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certificate and working knowledge of ERSI ArcGIS software are desired. Valid NJ driver’s license and NJ residency is required.
