Correspondence Representative

Health Information Mgmt.

The Correspondence Representative will:
Utilizing judgment and decision‑making skills, releases copies of patients' medical records in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Protects the confidentiality of patient care records and protected health information. Works directly and collaboratively with the managers to maintain optimal processes and procedures to assure the highest level of customer service.

Requirements:
  • Some college preferred. HIM experience preferred.
  • Requires strong comprehension abilities and critical thinking skills to ascertain that requests for release of information meet established criteria.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the legal aspects of medical records is preferred; computer knowledge essential, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and ability to concentrate, detail-orientation, and have the ability to accept and adjust to change.
  • Standard office equipment proficient.
  • Good interpersonal skills required, must be able to interact with all requestors in a compassionate, professional manner.

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
